Did you know that Costa Rica & Peru are the only sites in Latin America where Disney looked to establish vacation tours?
Adventure by Disney will will launch its “Path to Pura Vida” in May 2008. The 7 day expedition starts in San Jose proceeds to Arenal Volcano National Park and on to Manuel Antonio and Quepos in the Central Pacific.
According to the World & Tourism Travel Council the region received almost $ 64 million dollars in revenues related to tourism and travel. This boom made Costa Rica one of the entertainment giant’s preferred destination sites.
NOW is the time to invest and take advantage of all the great things to come!

Sport Fishing on the Pacific Coast
The fishing along the Pacific coast is good throughout the year, though areas vary depending on the marine and atmospheric conditions of that particular time of year.
The Southern Pacific coastline, starting from Golfito and extending to Drake Bay, is a region of particular distinction. Well-known for its year-round variety, this area has taken more than 40 IGFA world records and boasts myriad species including amberjack, grouper, cubera, barracuda, roosterfish , wahoo, snook, and up to 400-pound tuna. The far southern end of the Pacific coast is also a great place to find the usual variety of snapper, tuna, and wahoo. In addition, the river mouths from Jacó to Golfito are loaded with snook.
Within the past three or four years, the central coast at Quepos has become rather popular due to a shift in the migratory habits of billfish. They now come to these waters in December. The action is very good until about April or May at which time the billfish population moves north. In addition to the billfish, there is a plentiful supply of jacks, wahoo, tuna, and roosterfish in this area. The region does have it’s fair share of sailfish and marlin, but it is best known for its phenomenal cubera, big tuna, snapper, wahoo, and roosterfish. Boats from Quepos run multiple-day trips to Drake Bay and Caño Island, and guests can overnight at one of the many wilderness camps and ecolodges.
A few boats fish out of Puntarenas and across the Gulf of Nicoya below Playa Naranjo. It is a long distance to the blue water off Herradura to the south or outside Cabo Blanco, so most anglers will opt for the area’s impressive inshore fishing. Along the coastline, one will find an abundance of sierra, corvina, tuna, jacks, and snapper.
Boats usually run about 7 to 15 miles outside Cabos Velas in search of sailfish and marlin. They also visit the Murciélago and Catalina Islands. Also found around these areas are jacks, tuna, wahoo, cubera and roosterfish.
Around December, when the northerly winds are driving through the area, boats are either fishing inshore or move around the corner of Cabo Velas and head south toward Punta Guiones where the waters are more calm. In this area, below Guiones, boat service can be found at Nosara, Sámara, and Playa Carillo. These spots are in season year-round. Billfish occupy the outer waters while snapper, wahoo, and other fish stay inside.
Northern Guanacaste boasts the country’s largest concentration of charter boats. Most of these companies fish out of Flamingo Beach Marina, Tamarindo, and the Coco Beach Area, including Ocotal. The peak season for sailfish and marlin is from May to August, and often continues into December, when the northerly winds arrive. January, August and September are also good months for Marlin, however it is the warmer waters of the El Niño that chase the marlin away.
